ASCA - Certified School Counselor Credential

New in 2020 ASCA now offers the ASCA - Certified School Counselor (ASCA) credential. This is an entry-level certification that demonstrates school counselor knowledge in designing, implementing and assessing a school counseling program. School counselors who hold the ASCA demonstrate their commitment to the highest levels of professionalism, ethical practice and continuing professional development in their school counseling practice.

To qualify for certification, school counselors must meet one of the eligibility requirements detailed at www.schoolcounselor.org/certification. 

What is NBCT and what does it have to do with school counseling?
National Board Certification identifies educators (including school counselors) who demonstrate commitment to the National Board Five Core Propositions and Standards through a performance-based, peer-reviewed series of assessment components.
